Meetings
Women in Their Twenties (WiTT) meets at 8:00 P.M. on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month at the offices of the DC Center, a community center for GLBT in Washington DC.
Directions
The DC Center is located at 1111 14th Street NW, Suite 350. The closest intersection is 14th & L. To get to WiTT by Metro, you can get off at either Farragut North (on the red line) or Farragut West/McPherson Square (on the orange & blue lines).
From Farragut North:
Exit station using CONNETICUT AVE & K ST NW. Turn left, and walk approx. 3 blocks K St. Bear left on Vermont Ave. Walk approx. 1 block on Vermont, and turn right on L Street. Walk 1 more block and turn left on 14th Street. (Yes, these are wmata.com’s directions!)
From Farragut West:
Use 17th Street exit. Walk across the square to get to the intersection of K and Connecticut, and follow directions from Farragut North.
From McPherson Square:
Exit Station at 14th & I. Walk 2 blocks north on 14th Street, and you’ll be there.
Our group is led by several facilitators on a rotational basis. Facilitators lead the group in discussion topics (both serious and silly, GLBT-related or not). New people are always welcome. We follow the discussion with dinner at a nearby restaurant. These are usually reasonably inexpensive and have vegetarian/vegan options.
At the end of each meeting, we ask for a $2 donation. Half of the money collected is left in the donation box for LSP (who graciously allow us the use of their offices free of charge), and the rest is used to maintain our website and for our table at Capital Pride.
Other events can follow the dinner, such as a trip to a gay bar, or we might have other weekend events planned. Past events include hiking in the Shenandoah mountains, beach trips to Rehoboth, Gay Night at King’s Dominion, museum and festival visits, water tubing at Harper’s Ferry, snow tubing at Liberty Mountain, dinners out, and volunteering.
Check out our Events Section to see what’s in store for the next few weeks.
Our meetings are open to all lesbian, bisexual, transgender or interested women in their 20s and we welcome a diversity of experiences and opinions. We hope to see you soon!
